This past Sunday was one filled with great excitement as we were led in music through song by Thomas K. Murphy, a recent graduate of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. Thomas, along with his wife Victoria and son Ian, was with us this past weekend in view of a call to join our ministry team at First Baptist as a outreach and discipleship ministry assistant (with an emphasis in music). The church will vote to call Thomas at a special meeting after worship on December 11. The addition of Thomas' position is just one of the exciting developments in the life of our church right now.
Our call to worship Sunday was Psalm 96:1-6. To see the songs and other Scripture readings from our gathering, click here to download our worship guide.
Our sermon text for the morning was Isaiah 11:1-10. This was the second on four Advent themed messages from our series "Waiting on God" looking at four Messianic passages from the book of Isaiah to see how Jesus fulfills them and what aspects will not be completely fulfilled until Christ's return. Check out the sermon audio below.
Here is the audio for our first week in the series from Isaiah 2:1-5.
